Resources
Navigating the vast amount of information available today can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to find resources that are both relevant and trustworthy. In the mental health field, the quality of information matters—what you read and apply can have a real impact on your well-being and the well-being of those you care about.
As a clinician, I am committed to sharing resources that are grounded in research, informed by clinical experience, and applicable to real-life situations. Throughout my work with clients, supervisees, and the broader community, I often come across articles, tools, books, and insights that I believe can be helpful. This page is a space where I will share those resources with you.
You will find information here that supports personal growth, emotional well-being, relationship health, and healing from life’s challenges. Some resources may be geared toward individuals navigating their own mental health journey, while others may be helpful for clinicians, caregivers, or loved ones seeking to better support someone they care about.
My hope is that these resources feel accessible, practical, and meaningful—meeting you where you are while also encouraging growth and deeper understanding. I will continue to update this page with relevant and trustworthy information for anyone who is looking to better themselves and/or support their loved ones along the way.
Substance Use Disorder/Addiction Resources
Substance use and addiction are increasingly impacting individuals and families. It can be difficult to understand the behaviors that come with addiction, especially when it affects someone you love.
Below is a video from PALS (Parents of Addicted Loved Ones), a wonderful support group for families navigating these challenges. This video, created by the Mayo Clinic, provides a clear and compassionate explanation of addiction and helps make sense of the “why” behind many of the behaviors we see in clients and loved ones.
My hope is that this resource offers both understanding and a sense of support as you navigate this journey.

The second video, Nuggets, is a short film found on YouTube. It does a powerful job of illustrating how addiction develops and impacts individuals, particularly from a childlike perspective. Through the story of a bird, this 5-minute video simply yet profoundly depicts how addiction can take hold and shape someone’s life. It is especially helpful for children or for explaining addiction in a more accessible, visual way.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
The video to the right offers a clear and helpful explanation of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I encourage you to watch it if you believe you or someone you know may be struggling with OCD.
OCD is often misunderstood and can be a complex disorder to accurately identify and treat. One important consideration is that not all therapy approaches are effective for OCD. In fact, when OCD is not properly recognized and treated with appropriate, evidence-based interventions, therapy can unintentionally reinforce symptoms and make them worse. This highlights the importance of working with clinicians who are specifically trained in treating OCD.
NOCD, www.treatmyocd.com, is an excellent online resource that provides a wealth of information about OCD. They are recognized as a leader in the field and offer not only high-quality educational materials, but also specialized assessment and treatment services. NOCD connects individuals with trained therapists and offers accessible care options, including insurance coverage.
My hope is that these resources help increase understanding and guide you toward effective support and treatment.
Trauma
Trauma is a word we hear often, but many people still wonder what it truly means. In this video, Bessel van der Kolk, one of the leading experts in the field and author of The Body Keeps the Score, does an excellent job explaining what trauma is and how it impacts the mind and body.
