My Journey and Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, licensed in both North Carolina and South Carolina, with extensive experience in therapy, marriage counseling, clinical supervision, and counselor education. My professional background includes work in school settings, managed care, and private practice, which has provided me with a well-rounded perspective on supporting individuals across the lifespan.
I hold a Master of Science in Counselor Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from East Carolina University, where I developed a strong foundation in research and evidence-based practice. During my academic training, I completed two theses and worked alongside professors in the psychology department as they conducted their own research, which continues to inform my clinical work today. I remain engaged in ongoing learning, research, and professional development to ensure that my work is grounded in current, effective approaches. I also support clients in navigating the mental health system, helping make what can feel like a confusing and overwhelming process more clear and manageable.
I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, including marriage therapy, and I am trained in evidence-based modalities including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and biofeedback.
In my role as a clinical supervisor, I am passionate about supporting new clinicians as they develop their clinical skills, confidence, and professional identity. I provide both individual and group supervision, creating a collaborative and supportive environment where clinicians can deepen their case conceptualization, strengthen their use of evidence-based practices, and navigate the complexities of clinical work and licensure.
Through my work, I am committed to fostering growth, healing, and meaningful connection for both clients and the clinicians I serve.
