Clinical Supervision
I have always had a passion for teaching and walking alongside others as they learn and grow. As I began supervising, I quickly realized how much my own experiences in the mental health field could support and guide new therapists. There is something incredibly meaningful about helping clinicians build confidence, find their voice, and step into their own practice.
Supervision is more than just part of my work—it’s something I genuinely love and feel called to do. As I continue to grow in my own practice, I remain committed to supporting and strengthening therapists across North Carolina, helping them feel equipped, confident, and grounded in the work they are called to do.
“I had the priveledge of having Julia as a counseling supervisor from 2022-2024, she is the most dedicated and wisest counselor I know! She is extremely committed to her clients and the counselors she supervises!! I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to learn under her and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone seeking therapy or counseling supervision services!!”
Individual Clinical Supervision
This one-hour individual supervision is designed for LCMHCA clinicians working toward full licensure who are seeking personalized guidance and support in their clinical development. Supervision is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and level of experience, creating a space where you can grow with confidence and clarity.
Our work together may include in-depth case conceptualization, strengthening clinical decision-making, and building therapeutic skills across a variety of modalities. I also provide guidance in developing individualized roadmaps for advanced trainings, helping you identify areas of interest and align your professional growth with your long-term goals.
Individual supervision offers the opportunity to process clinical challenges, explore interventions, and deepen your understanding of client dynamics in a supportive and collaborative environment. My goal is to help you feel equipped, confident, and grounded as you continue to develop your identity as a clinician.
Group Supervision
I am more than satisfied with the groups and what I have been getting from them so far!
Group supervision is designed for LCMHCA clinicians working toward full licensure and offers a collaborative, supportive space for learning and professional growth. Groups are intentionally limited to 12 clinicians per North Carolina board policy, allowing for meaningful discussion, connection, and individualized attention within the group setting.
Sessions focus on shared learning and expanding clinical knowledge through discussion of a wide range of relevant topics. These may include areas such as ASAM criteria, dissociation, domestic violence, suicide assessment and intervention, current issues in the mental health field, and book studies that deepen clinical understanding and application.
Group supervision provides the opportunity to learn not only from the supervisor, but also from the experiences and perspectives of peers. My goal is to create an environment where clinicians feel supported, challenged, and encouraged as they continue to grow in confidence, competence, and clinical identity.
EMDR Consultation
EMDR consultation is designed for clinicians seeking to deepen their skills, strengthen their understanding of EMDR protocols, and receive guidance in the application of EMDR within their clinical work. As an EMDRIA-approved Consultant in Training, I provide consultation under the supervision of Dr. Ken Vanderlip of Orange County, California, an EMDR Institute Facilitator, EMDRIA Certified Therapist, and Approved Consultant with over 30 years of experience in trauma treatment, mindfulness, and resourcing.
Consultation sessions focus on case conceptualization, review and integration of EMDR protocols, and the development of clinical skills necessary for effective and ethical EMDR practice. Special attention may be given to resourcing and stabilization, drawing from work such as EMDR Phase 2 Resourcing Tools, which emphasizes building client capacity, resilience, and the ability to integrate positive experiences as part of the healing process.
This consultation supports clinicians in gaining confidence and competence in EMDR, while also meeting requirements for completion of EMDRIA certification. Hours obtained through consultation may be applied toward certification requirements. In addition to consultation for EMDRIA certification, clinicians are welcome to reach out for general EMDR consultation related to their clients or to further refine and strengthen their skills in this therapeutic modality.
My goal is to provide a supportive and collaborative space where clinicians can grow in their use of EMDR, refine their clinical approach, and feel confident in delivering this powerful modality to their clients.
