Marriage/Couples Counseling

My approach to marriage counseling is grounded in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), an attachment-based model that helps couples understand the deeper emotional needs and patterns driving their relationship. Rather than focusing only on surface-level conflict, we work together to identify the underlying cycle that keeps you feeling stuck—often patterns of disconnection, hurt, or unmet needs.

In our work together, I help each partner slow down, feel heard, and express emotions in a way that fosters understanding instead of conflict. As emotional safety grows, couples are better able to reconnect, rebuild trust, and experience a more secure and supportive bond.

I have been trained in EFCT through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) and continue to pursue advanced training with the goal of becoming fully certified.

Because every relationship is unique, I tailor sessions to meet your specific needs. At times, I may incorporate EMDR or other evidence-based approaches to help process individual experiences or past wounds that are impacting the relationship. This allows us to address not only the relationship dynamic, but also the personal experiences each partner brings into the marriage.

For couples who desire it, I also integrate Christian faith into the counseling process, creating space for shared beliefs to support healing, connection, and growth.

My goal is to help you move out of negative cycles and into a place of deeper connection, where both partners feel valued, understood, and emotionally safe. Healing is possible, and together we work toward restoring closeness, strengthening your bond, and creating a more secure and fulfilling relationship.
